RELEASE POLICY
1. A child will only be released from care to:

If appropriate the person will be given a choice of contacting for assistance:
- One of the emergency contacts on the registration forms
- Another person of parents/guardian choice
- Or the ministry of children and family development
- The Centre will be documenting any issues related to releasing children from care
3. When a child in care is not picked up:
- An authorized person
- Person is able to care for the child
- Person is named on registration form
2. A child will not be released from care when:
- The person appears incapable of providing safe care, such as being intoxicated or does not have an appropriate car seat.
If appropriate the person will be given a choice of contacting for assistance:
- One of the emergency contacts on the registration forms
- Another person of parents/guardian choice
- Or the ministry of children and family development
- An unauthorized person at pick up. The unauthorized person will be asked to leave the premises and the parent will be contacted to ensure an authorized person will be picking the child up.
- Copies of custody or court orders are on file and a person arrives that has restricted access by custody or court order
- The Centre will be documenting any issues related to releasing children from care
3. When a child in care is not picked up:
- All contact numbers for the enrolling parents/guardians will be contracted first
- All emergency contacts listed on the registration form or emergency cards will be contacted.
- No on responds after one hours of the child care closing time, steps will be taken to contact MCFD and/or the police.
