GUIDANCE AND DISCIPLINE POLICY
Guiding children’s behavior is intended to help children become self-disciplined as they learn appropriate and acceptable behaviour patterns. Our goal is to assist children in developing self-control, self-confidence and sensitivity in their interactions with others. Self-discipline methods are not humiliating to children or to adults; they are based on mutual respect and cooperation.
It is our goal to provide a safe, fun environment where simple and basic guidelines are in place and positive discipline techniques are utilized. Limits and guidelines are based on:1) safety, 2) respect to others and 3) respect for our environment. These limits and guidelines are introduced to the children and are reviewed whenever needed.
All children are expected to behave accordingly to their developmental age. When we assist children understanding behavioral expectations and direction, we consider each child is a unique individual influenced by their own natural development, environment and experiences. We will state his/her name, get down to the child’s eye level and use a calm voice:
